Carolyn’s
childhood contained the perfect growing medium for the highly talented
artist she has become. Encouraged by her artistic family, she has been
drawing and painting since early childhood. When she was a teenager, Carolyn’s
grandfather recognized spiritual world in an unusual picture she had painted.
As a senior, she received a scholarship to attend the Art Center, a prestigious
art college in Los Angeles. She also studied at Pasadena City College,
and after moving to the Pacific Northwest, Portland Community College
and Clark College in Vancouver, Washington. Her paintings have won many awards, including first place ribbons at Oregon’s Lake Oswego Festival of Arts, and numerous awards at the Ridgefield Art Association’s Annual Art Exhibit and Sale. Carolyn has become an admired watercolorist exhibiting her work at galleries throughout Washington, Oregon and southern California. Turning professional in the late 1970’s, she likes using watercolor, acrylic or color pencil to paint still life, wildlife, landscape, people and fantasy. Landscape with wildlife being her favorite subject, the Ridgefield Wildlife Refuge has provided a goldmine of inspiration for Carolyn these last fourteen years. Carolyn has developed a unique vision of color and strives in her paintings to deepen others’ appreciation of the unlimited variations that exist both in life and in the spiritual world. She hopes her paintings bring forth a spiritual as well as visual experience for those who view her work. |
